The DaVINCI CODE is an entertaining book which keeps you hooked throughout the story, making you turn page after page. However once you finish it, it does feel a bit empty, you do not miss or think about the characters, it is as if they were driven by the plot rather than them driving the plot.

The plot revolves around puzzles and a secret. Despite being a central part of the story, the puzzles feel like they do not belong naturally in this world. They feel reverse engineered and forced to fit the plot. The secret is explained by a character who knows it all rather than being discovered by piecing the puzzle elements together.

If you come across this book, I would still pick it up because it’s entertaining. And, it taught me about the idea of symbols and how they can carry meaning, which I think is really cool.
